Engineering Labourer Job

JULY 2023

Our family-run Boiler Engineering company is looking to recruit an engineering labourer to assist our current team with various roles that will keep the site functioning efficiently, clean, tidy and well-organised.  Joining our company means contributing to a sustainable future while preserving our heritage.  

Responsibilities

General labouring duties include collecting and delivering materials, unloading and organising goods inwards and ensuring the workshops and yards are clean and tidy.

Assisting the engineering and management teams as and when required with a variety of roles to ensure operational efficiency, including working out onsite and staying away at times. Carry out stock-taking, upkeep of motor vehicles, basic engineering duties, forklift driving and Safely managing the waste and material movement both internally & externally across the site.

Skills and Experience

  • The ability to manage and prioritise your workload effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensures deadlines are met whilst working under pressure.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Ideally, you will have previous experience working within an engineering environment or similar.
  • Clean Driving license.
  • Forklift License is preferred but not essential.

Other Information

3-month initial contract leading to a full-time permanent role. Ongoing training is provided to up-skill further.

License: Full clean UK driving licence preferred

Hours: Monday to Friday (45 Hours Basic). Weekend availability and overtime

Salary: To be discussed depending on experience

Coded Welder Fabricator Job

July 2023

Our specialist engineering company is looking to recruit a Welder/Fabricator, ideally coded in MMA or TIG (6G), along with experience in general engineering. Working at H.A McEwens, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects - from state-of-the-art industrial boiler systems to historic restoration projects.

Responsibilities and Duties

The role is varied and will incorporate many diverse and exciting projects using modern and traditional techniques. This will include working both at our workshop as well as right across the UK and will involve staying away at times.

Working duties will include:

  • Industrial and heritage boiler repairs
  • Fabrication of pressure vessels
  • Pipework fabrication
  • Assisting our teams with boiler servicing, installations and general fitting

The candidate needs to have good engineering knowledge, ideally with experience of working on an industrial boiler plant, however, this is not essential. They need to be hard-working, reliable with a trustworthy attitude, and excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy and that deadlines are met whilst working under pressure.

The role is based at our works in Cowling (Near Keighley), however, the role will involve travelling across the UK and include working away on occasion.

Skills and Experience

We are Looking for a hardworking, flexible, reliable and trustworthy individual to join our highly skilled team. Ideally, the candidate will have experience and qualifications in the following, though additional training and development will be provided.

  • Coded in MMA or TIG (6G) welding
  • General engineering experience
