H.A McEwen (Boiler Repairs) Ltd are a leading specialist engineering company based near Keighley in West Yorkshire. We are looking to recruit a highly proficient Project Engineer to join our fast-paced head office in Cowling. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and driven Project Engineer, who wishes to progress within a dynamic and rapidly expanding engineering firm. With a wide and varied customer base covering industrial and heritage sectors with an ever-expanding workload, we can offer the opportunity to work on prestigious engineering projects across the whole of the UK.

Responsibilities and Duties

The successful candidate for this position will play a key role in designing and managing various projects, overseeing them from their initial inquiry to completion. They will have access to the knowledge and resources available within our highly accredited company.

As a Project Engineer, this role is crucial to our business and reports directly to the Managing Director. The responsibilities include organizing and managing tasks, ensuring that goals and deadlines are met in alignment with the company's plans and vision. This involves coordinating with our Works Manager to streamline workflows and ensuring that our employees are clear about their responsibilities.

The role will involve working on a variety of projects, encompassing service, repair, and installation tasks. The primary focus is on efficient planning and execution, including the timely ordering of necessary materials and equipment for each project.

The following outlines the qualifications and skills required for this role:

  • Have the ability to read and work from detailed engineering drawings.
  • Good all-round engineering and fabrication background.
  • Ability to use Microsoft and other business software programs.
  • Preparing, scheduling and monitoring assigned engineering projects.
  • Producing Autocad 2D and 3D drawings from initial concept through to final design.
  • Knowledge to produce Bills of Materials and Pricing Schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise closely with clients over multiple projects.
  • Manage projects from initial enquiry through to completion.
  • Knowledge of all welding methods and techniques.
  • Full driving licence.

The offered position comes with a competitive salary ranging from £25,000 to £35,000, depending on your skills and experience. The working hours are scheduled from Monday to Friday, with a typical workday running from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm; however, we are open to discussing flexible start and finish times to accommodate individual needs. This role offers full-time permanent employment, and you'll have access to our company pension scheme.

Other Information

The successful candidate needs to be based within travelling distance of our works near Keighley in West Yorkshire. Though you will be based at our works you will work across the UK and working away will be required at times.
