RIVETED FIREBOXES
A traditional riveted firebox still has much appeal due to the feel of originality it brings to a restoration, and the aesthetic value of the riveting work.
Using the traditional techniques of flanging endplates and hot forming wrapper plates, and then finally riveting the sections together and caulking the seams to seal, a riveted firebox bears all the resemblance of being built 100 years ago.
